Shipping and Return Policy

Processing Your Order

We try our best to ship products to you as soon as possible. On an average, it takes us about 2 business days to ship products out of our warehouses across India. Shumee’s working days are from Monday to Friday i.e we work 5 days a week excluding public holidays. However if the quantities ordered are more than 5 pieces per product, or if the item ordered is under production, or if it is marked as under pre-order, it may take longer to process your order. Should this happen, we will keep you informed by email or call.

Upon successful shipment of an order, we will send you the details of the consignment to allow you to check the status of your order. The typical delivery date shall be within 10 days of shipping and in some cases 12-15 days (Please see shipping and returns policy for details).

 

Please note – no two discount coupons can be applied together. Products on slashed pricing will not be eligible for further discounts.

For shipping within India

We offer free shipping all over India for orders above Rs.395.

For shipping outside India

We ship to the US, UK and Canada apart from India. For these international shipments, the shipping and delivery expenses are to be borne by the customer. The shipping & handling costs are indicated based on Country/ Zone during the Shopping cart checkout process. All costs are indicated based on the consignment weight & zones. All our international shipments will need to go through airport clearance in India which will incur additional handling charges.

Owing to numerous variables including prerequisites of each country and the documents provided by the customers to clearance officers to import the products, we are unable to estimate the time of delivery of products for international shipments. If you are placing an international order, please ensure that you provide proper import documents required in the delivery country. You will also be solely responsible for getting clearance in case the consignment is stopped by customs authorities in your country.

Alternatively, customers residing in the American Subcontinent (Canada, USA, and Mexico) can place the order for Shumee products via Amazon.com.

 

Returns, refunds & more

Before you return a Shumee product, please take a moment to understand how our products are made. All our products are handcrafted by traditional artisans in rural India, resulting in each product being unique and slightly different from the others. The wood grain you see on some products is natural and their beauty is in that texture—it is not a blemish!

That said, if you change your mind about an order you placed or by chance, receive a damaged product, we are happy to help you. Nothing brings us a sense of joy  like seeing our little customers delighted with their new playthings and we wouldn’t want to do anything to affect that!

  1. Cancellation Policy

We offer free cancellation within 24 hours of the order being placed and in case of weekends, during the next working day. If you place a cancellation request after 24 hours of ordering the product, we will be unable to recall it. We will still accept the cancellation request, but you will need to bear the delivery charges and ship it back to us.

  1. Returns Policy

We accept return requests within 48 hours of order placement on all our products except baby goods like teethers, nappies, bibs, rattles, swaddles, baby balls, blankets, etc. for reasons of hygiene. Books are also not returnable. Return requests placed after 48 hours of order placement are unfortunately non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Do also make sure you are returning the product for a genuine reason. 🙂

Damages & Replacement

In case you receive a damaged product, please contact us within 48 hours and we will pick up and replace the product free of cost. Our products are designed to be sturdy and crafted with care. However, they may break or suffer damages if handled roughly If the product gets damaged after use (two weeks or more after purchase), we will not be able to accept a return or offer a refund. If the product is repairable, we are happy to help you with that at no additional cost. You will need to bear only the cost of shipping the product to us and getting it shipped back to you after repairs are made.

Please note that we reserve the right to reject return requests from customers in case of frequent returns from them (>3 in a financial year). Some pin codes are also not feasible for a reverse pickup, in which case we will need to ask you to ship it back to us. We do not offer reverse pickups outside India.

  1. Refund Policy

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund request.

In case you receive a defective or damaged product, we will offer you a replacement or a refund. If you choose to get a refund, it will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7 working days.

For other returned items (for example, a product you didn’t like), you will receive a refund in the form of store credit on Shumee, which must be availed within 4 months of the delivery of the product.
